The questions around how to arm and prepare firearm teams in Zoos seem to be inexhaustible. For many unfamiliar with this topic, there is the desire to find a simple, plug and play solution. Well, it just isn’t that simple.
In this webinar, panelists will share firearms team survey data gathered from the AZA Safety Network as well as 4 case studies that outline how 4 different institutions have armed and prepared their teams. Each will acknowledge the fact that there are many ways to address the unique needs of zoological institutions. The case studies represent what each has determined works best for their institution. No two are alike, but none are wrong. The diversity of ways each had outfitted their teams to respond to PDA escape and un-protected contact, reflects the diversity within and between our institutions. In addition to the presentations, there will be ample time for Q&A.
