Introducing tigers for breeding can be a very stressful experience especially to inexperienced staff, as the natural behaviors of this species can lead to aggression during the introduction event. The Tiger Husbandry Advisory Team (THAT) is putting together a FREE webinar to help staff identify when a female is in estrus cycle (and therefore receptive to the male) to help set the breeding pair up for success. This webinar will include information on the physiology of the Tigers reproductive cycle, detailed information on how you can identify when a Tiger is in estrus and what are appropriate, affiliative behaviors from a male. We will be showing several video examples to help prepare your staff for introductions and breeding.
