Mindful Leadership in Crisis – Coordinated by the AZA Safety Committee

Event Location: Webinar

There are a huge variety of issues that may impact the mental well-being of your teams each day. Stress, fatigue, and critical incidents are all contributing factors to employee disengagement and high turnover rates, both of which can contribute to an unsafe working environment. Coordinated by the AZA Safety Committee, this webinar will look at real-life scenarios that may be encountered while working in the zoo and aquarium industry, and is intended to provide the tools and resources you can utilize to assist individuals, teams, and organizations in navigating these difficult situations. Join us as we break out into working groups to explore a variety of scenarios and the steps you can take to mitigate their impact to your teams. Be prepared to engage in open and honest communication, without judgement, while learning to address the mental health issues we sometimes see in our industry.

Two sessions, one on June 29, 2021 and another on July 1, 2021, will be offered. Sessions on both dates will take place from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM EDT.
